Hand-surveyed-hand-drawn map, ink and pastel on vellum, 36x60 inches 2011

This is a map of the northern end of Union Bay, my home canoe territory when I lived in Seattle. I surveyed during the winter, when I could stand on the frozen cattail bog, and ended my survey when the geese started nesting. The locations of several specimens in the View from the Canoe specimen boxes are noted on the map.
